The home

Alquerías are the old farmhouses of the Valencian huerta: thick walls, a gabled roof and a wide door for the cart. This one dates from the mid-19th century and is surrounded by its own orange trees.

The 2020 restoration kept the walls, the beams and the stone staircase, and opened the ground floor onto a south-facing porch. There are five bedrooms, a pool among the trees and, next to the summer kitchen, a wood fire for Sunday paella.

In March and April everything smells of orange blossom. The grove is still watered by the acequia, as it has been for centuries, and in ten minutes you are in central Valencia or on the sand at Patacona.
